Inlet Derivatisation for the GC Analysis of Organic Acid Mixtures
نویسنده
چکیده
The analysis of mixed acid streams plays an important role in the control of processes for the production of acetic acid and the determination of dicarboxylic and ketoacids, such as succinic (butane-dioic acid) and levulinic acids (4-oxypentanoic acid), can present particular problems to the analyst, In process streams at high temperatures these components are fully soluble but at ambient temperatures they can crystallise out resulting in multiphase samples. GC methods using conventional injection techniques therefore require dilution in a

Determination of low-molecular-weight dicarboxylic acids in atmospheric aerosols: comparison between silylation and esterification derivatisation procedures for GC-MS analysis
Aliphatic dicarboxylic acids are one of most important components of water-soluble organics in atmospheric aerosol: they can derive from primary emissions from biomass burning and fossil fuel combustion, as well as photochemical oxidation of organic precursors of both anthropogenic and biogenic origin. Therefore, a detailed investigation on concentrations and relative abundance of these compoun...
متن کاملDevelopment and Validation of a GC-FID Method for Diagnosis of Methylmalonic Acidemia
Background: Urinary organic acids are water-soluble intermediates and end products of the metabolism of amino acids, carbohydrates, lipids, and a number of other metabolic processes. In the hereditary diseases known as organic acidurias, an enzyme or co-factor defect in a metabolic pathway leads to the accumulation and increased excretion of one or more of these acidic metabolites. Gas chromato...
متن کاملFully Automated Trimethylsilyl (TMS) Derivatisation Protocol for Metabolite Profiling by GC-MS
Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) has long been used for metabolite profiling of a wide range of biological samples. Many derivatisation protocols are already available and among these, trimethylsilyl (TMS) derivatisation is one of the most widely used in metabolomics. However, most TMS methods rely on off-line derivatisation prior to GC-MS analysis. In the case of manual off-line TM...
متن کاملFatty acid composition, antioxidant and antibacterial activities of Adonis wolgensis L. extract
Objectives: The objective of this study was to analyze the fatty acid content, antioxidant, and antibacterial activities of hydro-methanolic extract of Adonis wolgensis L. (A. wolgensis L.) growing wild in north of Iran. Materials and Methods: Oils of A. wolgensis L. was obtained by means of Soxhlet apparatus from leaves and stems. Methyl esters were derived from the oily mixtures by trans-este...
متن کاملUSE OF ORGANIC SOLVENTS FOR THE ENHANCEMENT AND LIFETIME INCREASING OF LUMINESCENCE IN FLUORIMETRIC APPLICATION BY FLUORESCAMINE
In this study, the fluorogenic efficiency of fluorescamine for spectrofluorimetric analysis of primary amines was investigated. Different mixtures of dichloromethane and other organic solvents were used for evaluation of fluorescence stability and intensity of fluorescamine derivative (Pyrrolinone). Solvents such as acetonitrile (ACN), tetrahydrofuran (THF) and dioxane increase stability an...
